Antioxidants and health
Antioxidants - natural health protectors
Antioxidants have the most important role in the fight against free radicals.
Antioxidants are essential for the normal functioning of our organism, and their lack leads to the development of the disease.
Free radicals occur every day in our body during the oxidation process. During the oxidation, oxygen plays the main role. Oxygen is essential for life, but in an increased concentration, oxygen in the tissues and organs can act as toxic because it leads to the formation of reactive oxygen forms or, free radicals (ROS - reactive oxygen species ie reactive oxygen species).
Namely, the causes of oxidative stress can be:
- external (exogenous) such as: air pollution, naturally occurring sources (ozone, high oxygen concentration, hyperbaric oxygen), radiation (UV rays), pathogenic bacteria, viruses, various chemicals and toxins, physical damage to the skin
- Internal (endogenous) include enzymes that indirectly produce ROS
What are free radicals and reactive oxygen species?
Free radicals (free radicals) are atoms or molecules that possess one or more unpaired electrons (e.g., superoxide anion, peroxyl, hydroxyl and nitrogen monoxide radical).
Other reactive molecules they are not free radicals themselves, but they are in an excited state and they initiate oxidation processes and create free radicals (eg molecular and singlet oxygen, hydrogen peroxide).
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) includes free radicals and other reactive molecules.
Free radicals have one or more unpaired electrons in their outer shell and tend to connect to a more stable compound by "subtracting" the electron into another compound. Often they take away electrons from proteins, fats and carbohydrates in our organism and thus trigger a harmful reaction called oxidative stress.
Thus, cells lose their integrity and become damaged or completely dysfunctional. Free radicals often damage our genetic material (DNA molecules).
Under normal circumstances, the formation and binding of free radicals is in balance.
The problem arises when free radicals are created much more than an organism can neutralize them.
Stacking Free Radicals leads to a series of degenerative changes that impairs health and accelerates the aging process, develops cardiovascular, malignant, neurodegenerative and other diseases.
How to protect yourself from the disease? By entering antioxidants.
How do antioxidants work?
The main mechanism of antioxidant activity is to react with free radicals, which results in weakening of free radicals or deactivation.
- slow down aging
- Lower cholesterol levels
- protect the heart and blood vessels
- reduce the risk of cancer
- suppress the development of tumors
- help with all types of diseases (arthritis, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, etc.)
How to increase the amount of antioxidants in the body?
1. Inject enough antioxidants into the body through food (especially by adding fruits, vegetables and spices).
The foods are brought in raw or steamed so that the maximum of their antioxidant activity is kept.
Some of the foods with the highest proportion of antioxidants are:
Fruits (blueberries, cranberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, plums, grapes, citrus, watermelon, mango, kiwi, cranberry, plum, apple ...)
Vegetables (tomatoes, carrots, spinach, peas, broccoli, artichokes, cabbage, carfiol, avocado, pumpkin, garlic ...)
Spices (cinnamon, turmeric, oregano, cinnamon, parsley, basil, curry, ginger, pepper, chilli, coriander, cardamom, thyme, sage, honey ...)
Key antioxidants They are: vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin E, selenium, lycopene, lutein, zinc, coenzyme Q and flavonoids.
By entering the antioxidant-containing foods, strengthen your immunity and protect your body from damage
2. Inject antioxidants with nutritional supplements
If you are on a low-calorie diet, do not get enough antioxidant-rich foods, or you are in a state of increased need for antioxidants (pregnancy, breast-feeding, increased physical activity, intense training with athletes), then antioxidant intake is recommended via nitric supplements.
In this heart I recommend some dietary supplements, e.g. Aloe Vera Gel and All Aloe Vera Beverages, A-Beta Care, Artic Sea Omega-3, Adsorbent C, Forever Immublend, Forever Kids, CardioHealth with CoQ10, Forever Vision, Forever Vision, Forever Gingko Plus, Forever Ginko Plus , Lycium Plus, Vitolize Men, Vitolize Women. Namely, all nutritional supplements as well as Aloe Vera based aloe vera are rich in antioxidants.
Also, the skin care and personal hygiene products contain antioxidants because they are primarily based on Aloe Vera, a powerful source of antioxidants, and contribute to the preservation and improvement of skin and mucous membrane health and thus the health of the whole organism.
